Audience feedback allows us as media producers to gain perspective on our media platforms. We do this by seeking out to those within the range of our target audience, looking for reactions and feedback which we could use as either constructive criticism, or ways that support our decisions made. This will ensure we produce high standard and effective media (trailer) for our target audience; so we can predict the outcome in the long run.
Prior to our audience feedback, we used a variety of methods to provide us with a substantial amount of commentary and results. We uploaded our movie trailer onto YouTube and Facebook, searching for both constructive criticism and ways that we have been successful in the making of "Case Study Apaisios".
We also had a few people watch our trailer whilst we recorded their reactions. This allowed us to see what to maintain, and what we need to improve on in the future.
Another method of feedback was using a survey of questions to provide us with opinions on our trailer. The questions included were the following:
-How was our trailer?
-Did the trailer make you want to watch the film?
-Was the storyline gripping and interesting?
-Were the titles easy to follow?
-Did the music make the trailer more tense and scary?
-Was it clear what our genre was?
-What age range would you thing our target audience was?
-Did you feel our trailer had suitable locations?
-Do our poster, trailer and magazine tie in together?
-Did you feel our trailer got scarier as it developed?
-Do you think our cast were well-suited for the characters in the trailer?
-If you could, what would you change about our trailer?
-Would you recommend our trailer to a friend?

Prior to filling in the survey, we filmed people watching our trailer and got their initial reactions when watching it for the first time; as shown below. At the end of the clip, we then asked each of them a few questions based on the survey, gaining their first thoughts on our trailer so far.
We found that they both enjoyed watching our trailer which confirms answers they had ticked on the survey. We noticed their facial expressions throughout the trailer, demonstrating their interests at the parts we hoped. Including the beginning with the voice in the background saying "hello, is this the police?". As well as the scene where Jess is chasing Hele, creating suspense; then where she catches Hele and seeming to bite her, the audience seemed gripped and intrigued at that point in the trailer. This was also prominent towards the end, when the girl is on the call and screams "help me". Our audience reactions therefore matched accordingly to what we expected.
Facebook Comments
We uploaded our trailer to Facebook to see what we got from members of the public and the sort of market that find our trailer interesting.
From these comments we can tell which factors were effective in the making of our trailer. It provided us with insight from those who are the same age range as us. They all said similar things which showed that our audio production was the most influential when viewing our trailer.
This was also used as a different platform and feedback from those who could not be influenced by us physically showing them the trailer; they also didn't state anything they believe we should improve on.
