A storyboard is organised in the form of illustrations or images displayed in a certain order or sequence. It is created when planning for producing media, allowing us to see the different scenes that will feature throughout our media trailer and whether or not they flow together. They aim to set the scene of the trailer and discover whether or not it will be understandable to the audience.
It can also be used as an aid for all of us to see a visual representation of ideas and cast involved.
Here are some things we took into consideration with the storyboard:

Here are some things we took into consideration with the storyboard:
- Show, don’t tell. Use the storyboard to determine if the story board really does show the story well and is valid.
- Be cinematic. Considering whether or not our trailer includes things that other movies do. Including the different shots, movements and angles.
- Make sure it’s logical and coherent. Ensuring that the video looks visually consistent from beginning to end, so the audience can follow it easily.
- Picking a theme. Demonstrating the situation at hand, with the main character facing challenges and being the centre of the story being told.
Our storyboard:
This was part of our planning process to outline ideas for key shots and the angle used to demonstrate it. We have also stated where this would be used to help us when it comes to constructing the trailer. Each shot has a certain influence to the impact it has on our target audience.
For example, the first shot is used to represent the beginning of the trailer which sets the scene of the investigators, providing an understanding of what it is about.
The second shot is used to represent one of the locations used throughout for effect as part of our horror connotations; trees and lake.
The third shot is used to represent the thinking process of the detective at work, also demonstrating the importance of the black eyed kids and the impact it is having on their day-to-day lives.
The fourth shot is used to represent the interview with the witness, demonstrating how it has had an impact over various people and others are also aware of what is happening; also showing the importance of the study and gaining insight to the uncertainty of the situation.
The fifth shot is used to represent the situation from the detective's point of view, demonstrating that she has an encountered the black eyed kids, drawing in interest.
The sixth shot in the planning process is used during her conversation with a 'wise lady' also demonstrating the impact and also it being present over time, and not just a present issue.
The seventh shot in the storyboard is used to represent the eldest black eyed kid having a physical encounter with the detective. Raising questions on what had happened as a result.
The final shot is used to represent the potential darkness about the woman. Again raising questions on the role she plays and the impact it will have on the audience.
